I was surprised that Fujisawa Station, which I use every day, was included in the top 50 in the world. However, this is a ranking from 2013, and it is strange that there are no stations in China, which has a population 10 times that of Japan. I can't imagine that all people living in big cities in China commute to work by car.
As someone who has been using trains to commute to work in Japan for a long time, I felt that the departure melody was a "UX failure" in that "if a foreigner comes to Japan, they won't imagine that this is the departure bell." This is because users will not notice the same event unless they receive the same feedback. Therefore, I think that the departure bell is superior to the melody in that it is "the same everywhere."
A long time ago, when I used the train in Italy, I was surprised that the train started moving without any announcement or bell. I thought this was a bit unkind. Therefore, compared to the Italian National Railway, JR is superior.
